Projects

MK 350 Principles of Marketing – Market Research & Consumer Analysis Project

For this group project, we developed a comprehensive marketing strategy for Wild Haven Durango, a proposed luxury glamping and outdoor adventure brand. The project focused on understanding the target market through primary research, including interviews with locals, students, and tourists, to identify consumer preferences, motivations, and expectations. We conducted PEST and SWOT analyses, built target segments and buyer personas, and translated insights into a clear positioning statement and full marketing mix.

MK374 Global Marketing - UCI Mountain Bike World Championships Collaboration Project (In Progress)

As part of a consulting group project, my team has started developing a comprehensive global marketing and strategic analysis to support the City of Durango’s collaboration with the 2030 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships. We evaluated Durango’s position as a host city by analyzing its competitive advantages, economic impact, cultural context, and global audience reach. Our work included market positioning against international host cities, target market segmentation, risk assessment, and recommendations for balancing global UCI standards with locally customized branding.

Independant Whitewater - Marketing and Operations Experience

During the summer, I worked with Independent Whitewater, where I supported marketing efforts and day-to-day operations for a locally owned rafting company. I helped create and manage social media content, promote trips and special offerings, and assist with customer communication to increase engagement and bookings. This experience gave me hands-on exposure to outdoor-industry marketing, brand storytelling, and the importance of clear communication in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

I worked closely with the marketing manager at Browns Canyon Rafting to develop and execute marketing plans and creative campaign ideas. My role included shooting and editing social media reels for FIBArk, a major whitewater festival, coordinating collaborative posts with local influencers to expand reach, and refreshing the company’s social media bio and logo to better align with brand goals. This experience strengthened my skills in content creation, brand consistency, and real-world digital marketing strategy.
